DESCRIPTION:Become an 11th Grade Career Coach Volunteer at EO's Career Commons\n\nFebruary   April 2025\n\nCareer Commons\, located at the heart of the Regional Workforce and Child Development Hub\, is becoming a cornerstone of K-12 career exploration and readiness. And we need Career Coaches. \n\n \n\nBuilding on the success of the Careers Expo for Youth\, Career Commons expands this experience. Students will deepen their engagement with career exploration and preparation through hands-on activities featuring 20 different regional employers across 17 career clusters.\n\n \n\nAlongside EO staff\, as a Career Coach Volunteer\, you will guide 11th grade students in working on resumes and job interview skills as well as activities in the career labs. Lab-specific instruction and activities will be provided prior to your visit. \n\n \n\nUnlike the previous Expo\, Career Commons will offer smaller group sessions and extended visits to foster quality interactions and deeper learning. From arrival to departure\, every aspect is designed to keep students engaged and actively learning. \n\nFrequently Asked Questions\nWho can volunteer?\nWe offer two types of volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule and commitment level. \n\n\n	Individuals: Perfect for individuals looking for volunteer opportunities to help your community.\n	Organizations: Ideal for those organizations looking for volunteer hours for staff to help make an impact on our community\n\n \n\nHow much time is a typical volunteer shift?\nStudents come during regular school hours and depending on travel time varies. Expected shifts can be anywhere from 9:00 am   2:00 pm. Almost all school visits are on Tuesdays\, Wednesdays\, and Thursdays with the occasional Monday or Friday visits. \n\n \nWhat to expect?\nContact us   We will send you a link to choose an opportunity you're interested in\, you will fill out the volunteer form & we will contact you with additional information. All volunteers are required to read and sign our Code of Conduct. Volunteers working with children are required to have a background check. These are provided by EO. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt to wear during your shift. We will email you all the information needed prior to your shift to help prepare you. \n\n \nVolunteers are at the heart of EO's mission\, and your support helps us strengthen our community.
